Message from our President, Joe Buttram Greetings to my colleagues. Please do attend the July 19 meeting. We have a most interesting agenda and we need you present for discussion. DUES. We have a handful of active professionals that have not paid dues for '09. Please do so; we need our full membership to support our efforts to promote live music in our area. See you at the meeting. Jammin’ - When you just want to play. If you’re looking for a place to play with other musicians there are two locations in Greenbrier County which provide that opportunity. Sometimes practicing alone is not too satisfying, or you might be trying to learn a second or third instrument. The Irish Pub in Lewisburg on Sunday evenings and The American Heritage Music Hall in Ronceverte on Tuesday evenings will welcome you. The music at The Irish Pub is mostly Irish and Scottish while the music at The American Heritage Music Hall is Old Time, Folk, and Country. Pictured above left are members Patrick O’Flaherty, owner of The Irish Pub, and Gary Williams along with other players. And, pictured above right are Charlie Massie and Jeanne Crane, founders of The American Heritage Music Hall. These sessions give these members an excellent opportunity to talk to non-members and explain the benefits of belonging to the AFM’s Local 674. |
